Featured Poet Live Poetry Reading

Held in the Library of the Historic Candler Mansion of the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Free admission and parking, as well as an on-site cafe for drinks + snacks.

 

Karen Head is the author of the four poetry volumes Lost on Purpose (2019),Sassing (2009), My Paris Year (2008), and Shadow Boxes (2003), as well as the nonfiction book Disrupt This!: MOOCs and the Promises of Technology(2017). Her poetry has appeared widely in journals and anthologies, including The Women’s Review of Books, Prairie Schooner, Gathered: An Anthology of Quaker Verse, and The Southern Poetry Anthology, Volume V: Georgia. Karen is the Editor of Atlanta Review as well as the Editor of Southern Discourse in the Center: A Journal of Multiliteracy and Innovation. She is an Associate Professor at Georgia Tech, and is the current Waffle House Poet Laureate.

 

Collin Kelley’s poetry, reviews, essays and interviews have appeared in publications around the world. He is the author of The Venus Trilogy of novels – Conquering VenusRemain In Light and Leaving ParisRemain In Light was a runner-up for the 2013 Georgia Author of the Year Award in Fiction, and was a finalist for the 2012 Townsend Prize for Fiction. He is also a recipient of the Deep South Festival of Writers Award and Goodreads Poetry Award. His fifth poetry collection, Midnight in a Perfect World, was published by Sibling Rivalry Press in 2018.
